Comprehensive Eye Exam
Our comprehensive exam is the foundation of good eye health. Dr. La evaluates your visual acuity, eye coordination, depth perception, color vision, and peripheral vision, as well as the health of your eye structures inside and out. We screen for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other conditions — often before symptoms appear. Recommended annually for most patients.
Contact Lens Exam
Contact lens fittings require more than just your glasses prescription. Dr. La measures the curvature of your cornea, evaluates your tear film, and recommends the best lens type for your eyes and lifestyle. Whether you’re new to contacts or switching brands, we’ll ensure a comfortable, healthy fit. We offer daily, monthly, toric, and multifocal options.
Children’s Eye Exams (Ages 5+)
Vision problems are one of the leading causes of learning difficulties in children. Dr. La makes pediatric exams fun and stress-free, assessing visual acuity, eye alignment, and focusing ability. Early detection of conditions like amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus, and myopia is critical — we’re here to catch them early and set your child up for success.
Diabetic Eye Exams
Diabetes can affect the eyes in ways that develop silently, including diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, and increased risk of glaucoma and cataracts. Regular diabetic eye exams are essential — and often required by your physician. We use advanced imaging to detect changes early, coordinate with your primary care provider, and help protect your long-term vision.
Dry Eye Treatment in Shelton, WA
Chronic dry eye affects millions and is often dismissed as “just irritation.” Symptoms include burning, stinging, blurred vision that clears when you blink, eye fatigue, and a gritty sensation. We offer comprehensive dry eye evaluation and treatment, including diagnostic testing, prescription drops, lid hygiene therapy, and advanced in-office procedures. If over-the-counter drops aren’t helping, you may have an underlying cause that’s treatable.
Medical Eye Care
We diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions including conjunctivitis (pink eye), blepharitis, corneal abrasions, allergic eye disease, and anterior uveitis. Dr. La can prescribe medications and manage ongoing conditions. If a referral to a specialist is needed, we’ll coordinate that care seamlessly.
Glaucoma Diagnosis & Management
Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness, and it almost always shows no symptoms until vision is already lost. We diagnose and manage glaucoma in-office using OCT imaging, visual field testing, and pressure monitoring. Most patients are treated with eye drops; we coordinate referrals when laser or surgery is needed.
Emergency & Urgent Eye Care
Eye emergencies shouldn’t wait, and they shouldn’t go to a general urgent care or ER. We handle eye infections (pink eye, styes, corneal ulcers), foreign body removal (metal shavings, sawdust, embedded debris), corneal abrasions from scratches or contact lens injuries, sudden vision loss, eye pain, flashes of light, new floaters, and chemical splashes. Most insurance covers urgent eye visits as a medical benefit. If you’re experiencing any of these, call us at (360) 427-8324 and we’ll see you as quickly as possible.
LASIK & Cataract Co-Management
Thinking about LASIK or been told you need cataract surgery? We provide comprehensive co-management care including pre-operative evaluations, surgical referrals to trusted surgeons, and all of your post-operative follow-up visits. We’re your partners throughout the entire process, ensuring the best possible outcome for your vision.
Optos Retinal Imaging & OCT
Our Optos ultra-widefield retinal camera captures up to 200 degrees of your retina in a single image — without dilation in many cases. Our OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) provides cross-sectional imaging of the retina and optic nerve, enabling early detection of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinal disease. These technologies help us catch problems years before symptoms appear.
