Accessibility Statement
Shelton Family Eye Care is committed to making this website and our practice accessible to all patients, including those with disabilities.
Last updated: May 2026
Our commitment
We believe everyone should be able to access information about their eye care and reach us easily. We’ve built this website with accessibility in mind and we’re continually working to improve.
Website accessibility
This website is designed to substantially conform with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Specific features include:
- Keyboard navigation — the entire site can be navigated using only a keyboard
- Color contrast — text and background colors meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for readability
- Resizable text — text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of functionality
- Descriptive links — link text describes its destination rather than relying on context
- Semantic markup — pages use proper HTML structure for screen reader compatibility
- Mobile-responsive design — works on phones, tablets, and assistive devices
We test the site periodically with accessibility tools and make improvements as we discover issues.

Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is not a one-time checkbox. We review this website periodically, test with real users when we can, and update our practices as accessibility standards evolve. If you see something we can do better, we want to hear about it.
